A device that is made of cellulose and woven fabric that helps remove solid particles like pollen, dust and other particles that are present in the air is called an Air Intake Filter. They catch the large particles and the oil suspended catches the smaller and finer particles. These need to be cleaned or even re-oiled from time to time.
  

• The last and the least effective of all ways is the oil bath filter mechanism. They utilize the oil bath and the large mesh to catch the large particles. They also grab the dust that tries to enter the air intake filter. Construction equipment and vintage farm usually use them, as they are easiest to clean.

A few times a combination of different types of air intake filters is used. Pre-filters consist of oil baths and cleanable filters.
